Investigating both mathematical constructions of saddle minimal surfaces, and the rich tectonic, ornamental tradition of Arabesque Islamic patterns, especially focusing towards muqarnas and stalactite features. We have indeed aimed at generating a new definition of superficial inferiority in architecture by articulating loose and interior manifold network that challenge the conventional divisions of wall & ceiling, surface & volume, monolithic & discrete, opaque & porous, figure & figuration.
The project is a complex development of in design & fabrication, including the development of a coherent tectonic, and assembly system intricate detailing with affluent materiality. Predominantly influenced by Indo -Islamic elements, the concept of cultural delineation of muqarnas is derived through ‘character being’ it’s own detail.
