«Beneath the marine breaths and fiery suns, the salt-makers were born» The salt marshes have always been a scenery of mixed emotions, and created dependent relations with the people who lived there. A sense of freedom or maybe confinement? This dipole was the axis throughout the designing process. A labyrinthine panel system and a floating reflector face the visitor, awaiting for him to experience this question.
Entering the salt warehouse, the visitor is introduced into a system of light and shadow. Wooden panels are put vertically to the shoreline, while wooden frames of plexiglas, parallel to the marsh, complete the labyrinth leaving the semi-transparency to answer the question. Outside the warehouse, following the labyrinth’s trail, low wooden girders lead the visitor to the «mirror», the «endless scenery». The floating platform clad with the mirror intensifies this sense of freedom, contributing as an object to the scenery’s horizontality.
