INTRODUCTION:
Architecture is a field where art, science and technology comes together to create spaces that holds the bridge between the nature and the man-made sphere of existence. For ages Architecture has been the symbol of prosperity, wealth and strength of a kingdom in the ancient world whereas in todays world it is a symbol of identity.

An Architecture academy is place where architects of tomorrow are shaped and they carry forward the torch to explore the above mentioned identity. Therefore it must be a place of exposure to the past, present and the future. In this case, each element, technique of construction, materials, modern technologies etc., used in the structure and the spaces provided plays a major role in provoking ideas and creativity in the user which majorly consists of the students.

Each space in the building is where critique, collaboration and problem solving comes together. These structures are made to inspire future generations of architects to expose, explore and experiment. Projects like these are built to empower education through the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

CONCEPT:
The first thought that came into my mind following the idea of designing an Architectural Academy was that of Greece and Roman architecture and its characteristics because of the following two reasons
1. The Initial evolution of architectural theories were based from that has paved the way for vast expansion of theoretical aspects of architecture.
2. An educational institution is where knowledge is gained about a certain field in particular. The Greeks and the Romans are the symbolism of knowledge since the ancient times.

The Initial basis of the design is based on ancient Greece and Roman style of city planning and bringing out the characteristics such as amphitheater, an agora or a forum, colonnade, pediment, the hypo-style columns rising in 2 tiers to a height greater than the walls and domes. Usage of ancient materials that defined the classical architecture wood, brick, limestone and marble flooring.

Inc-operating modern characteristics such as curved roofs, provision of paneling to filter out the sun light coming into the classrooms and provide enough ventilation into the structure, usage of modern materials such as glass and concrete wherever necessary.

THE DESIGN:
Each of the spaces provided play a vital role in the education and knowledge gaining process of a budding architecture student. Therefore a provision of a Historical museum enables a student to gain maximum amount of information from the past, present and the future developments. It is solely believed that a visual representation provokes a person to have a creative mind and therefore the historical museum has been equipped with VR and audio visual experience.

An architectural academy is essentially a knowledge sharing platform to bring out the architects of the future therefore an agora or a forum is designed at the center of the academic zone that brings together the staffs, the undergrad students as well as post grad students to present and share their works and ideas.

Each space and each block is positioned and designed in such a way that they are interdependent on each other and are easily accessed from one to another.

The auditorium (Thrust auditorium) is positioned such that they can be accessed by the user group easily during occasions and also easily accessed the visitors after parking their vehicles.

The outdoor games zone is positioned at the center of the site so that they can be accessed easily by the accommodation zone during the evening time. A park space is designed such that it can be used by various age category user group using the staff villas can use the space to the fullest.
